Rexar vs Kraken D'Waggin - 'King of Rampage'
Dated 01/04/2008
Seems Rexar and Kraken D'Waggin have gotten into a bit of an argument about who is the better rampaging macro. Cue an epic battle in the centre of London to find out just who is the 'King of Rampage'...
Phew. I have no idea how I managed to pull this one off. I really don't. It just... happened! Working on
krakendwaggin's brief, I had no idea what angle I would do this spectacular image from; originally I thought any impressive low angle would be beyond me, but I decided to give it a go and somehow it just flowed. Other artists might be familiar with the feeling when you're going well with a piece that it might become your best to date, and then that spurs you on to make it as good as you can; that's exactly what happened to me with this one.
"Wait a minute... is that Canary Wharf?" some of you might be asking. Yes... sort of. I don't know what possessed me to do it but I spontaneously decided to alter the surroundings into a modified version of the Canary Wharf district of London - I say modified because it isn't strictly accurate, but some of the buildings are there anyway! With me and Kraken D'Waggin both being British, I thought it might be a fun idea... plus I just couldn't resist having Kraken smashing his fist through the One Canada Tower just for the fun of it!! Lol!
As a little easter egg type thing, Mike the spaniel actually appears somewhere in this image. He's wearing the same colours as he was in Dragoneer's Pawfriend. Anyone who finds him gets an extra 500pts (...whatever that means...!)
I don't wanna sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet too much, but I'm just so damn pleased with how this one came out. I really am. And I hope all of you rampaging macro fans - especially Rexar's competitor - like it as much as I do.

Heh - unfortunately your little 50-50 punt was on the wrong side. As neopuc mentioned earlier, Mike is actually in the bottom-left corner near the black car (just under the text). But you're right, there are two furries there. The one you spotted is just a generic grey wolfy-type.
Excellent work, very bright and demands attention right on the good parts. Light shading is drawn quite well, and the musculature is drawn superbly. My only concern is the perspective is way off on the left... if that building is in front of Kraken, and then Kraken's right leg is in front of the >other< building, it looks to me like it's been extended way too 'long' over that one building, and diagonally crossing in front of an entire block! Unless that building his right hand is on is somehow a part of the building he's stepping over, it's kinda odd. Keep up the great work though, always appreciate seeing a new piece from ya! :)
Lol - actually, Tyrnn, that's just one of several perspective/size inaccuracies I'm aware of. Another is the size of Rexar's hands not being consistent with their respective distances, the size ratio between hand/plane and foot/bus, and strictly speaking it's not really a very good low-angle because there should be a greater variation in vertical scaling than this.
But to be absolutely honest, I really couldn't care less! Lol!
Thanks anyway.

Heh - your internet may have moved fast enough to load up the picture but it looks like it had you fooled about whether your replies were actually being posted or not! I hate it when it does that to me! Lol!
Never mind, mate. Appreciated, especially a hat-trick of times. Heh!

That's largely because Torchwood is bollo>BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP<...
...
'Terribly sorry, we seem to have lost the transmission. Oh well, for now, look at this random girl playing noughts and crosses with a toy clown."
(That's BBC Test Card F, if the culutral reference is lost on anyone.)
Lol!!!
Always love the limericks. Even if I really don't love shows like Doctor Who and Torchwood. Largely because I think they're bollo>BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP<...

"Terribly sorry, we seem..." (etc. repeat ad nauseum)

Battle of the SoleMasters!
I would vote, but feel I would have to do some extensive sole searching first...
I think after years of tongue research, I might reach a decision, although it would cum hard...
So far I'm for Rexar, butt that's because of the way he's displaying his awesome assets.
