Kangaroos have padding on the entirety of their hands. Fingertip to palm base, and every inch in between. Ditto for their feet -- heel to toetip, nothing but pad.

Rabbits have no padding at all on either their hands or their feet. Just fur, no pads.

Rooth'roo is a fantastical species of kangaroo called a "snowshoe roo", invented by flinters and I a while back. This version of kangaroo is white without being albino, thus the black accents. They've also got some snowshoe hare influence. You could call it a hybrid, but Rooth'roo's lineage would involve other snowshoe roos -- it's not like he had a rabbit mother and a kangaroo father or something. His design is mostly roo, but with some rabbit influence (roughly 4:1).

So, if you combine the roo and rabbit aspects, you end up with some tweaks: longer ears, bigger feet, funky pads on hands and feet, fluffier fur. I could have made other tweaks as well to make him even more rabbitish, but it's only a 20% influence -- head is still basically all roo, body style is basically all roo, tail is all roo, and sensibilities are all roo. *grin*

So that's why Rooth'roo has funky handpawpads. >:^)

Second: Wow! HUGE burst of growth! I hope for the sake of the county that it's not getting faster. Nice job putting the tail up through the roof, heh. One thing's for sure, that company's toast. But with bosses like that, they could use a little ... shall we say ... accidental attrition? ;) Though judging from the empty parking lot, I'm guessing everyone made it out ok. Whew!
