Yeah, someone's made Flare a pretty angry vixen, and now they're gonna get it, pretty badly too!
Anywho, I finally submitted something again, what's up with that!? Somehow I squeezed in some time in between my studies and managed to finish this. Drawing between classes worked pretty well, as only drawing at night would lead to even more sleep deprivation pretty quickly. Got some nice compliments that way too. Apart from my narrow-minded friend who doesn't understand the concept of anthropomorphism, pretty much everyone I study with liked this drawing. Might draw during the day more often now!
Shading took quite a while to do, especially since I'm obsessed with shading. Focused a lot on her hair and eyes, and tried to add little details like the corner of her jacket going over her sword. Aaaand I may have overdone her boots a little too...
Also, this drawing can double as my contribution to Halloween!
The inspiration behind this was the games and the soundtrack of the Prince of Persia series. Now it might not look PoP inspired, but it's more a matter of the use of swords than any actual visual elements from the games. Plus I wanted to practice expressions more, and what better way than to have a very angry Flare glaring at some unfortunate transgressor with her katana ready?

I love this. Your dedication to shading has definitely paid off; lot of depth there to bring it to light. I really like the little details that you worked in to catch the eye, the jacket fold over the sword, and even the shadow under the lapels, are just little touches that add so much, and the pose and the expression is very dynamic. Is there a backstory behind Flare? I'm going to check out your profile and gallery now, but would love to know if there is one. I could totally see her as the lead character in a PoP-esque game. :3
Thank you so much!!! :D
I do love adding details, so I try to add as many as possible in each picture.
She doesn't have much of a backstory yet, but I am working on it though. Considering a post-apocalyptic world possibly, or a technologically advanced one. I'm not too certain yet, so many things to take into account.
Wooo, that'd be awesome!! :3
