I guess it makes sense.
When the creatures and beings have a tendency to overreact with big metal pointy in that world, a psychologist needs more then just a good ear and light words to disarm a potentially powder keg issues of a client.

This is funny because I'm actually in the neuropsychology research program (AS A RESEARCHER, NOT A SUBJECT), and I get to talk to the clinicians a lot to tell them about the findings and studies we do and that yes, hitting clients with the giant mace is generally considered unethical and will generally get your license revoked 8U
