Eid Muzafr - Old Golan Winds
~~~
Eid Muzafr Mubarak! Happy Muzafr Monday!
Muzafr squinted into the dry breeze, flecks of dust and sand glancing off her smooth scales. She settled onto her perch at the precipice of the uppermost tower of the ruined as-Subaiba, scanning the rugged terrain with a keen eye. Even the slightest activity looming out of the haze could be cause for alarm, and she was prepared to take on anything - or anyone - who would dare threaten the peace.
I've missed the past couple ones due to travel, has anyone noticed? Lol. But now for something completely different.
This isn't my usual style, obviously! Some of my older followers may remember the days when I used to do lineless like allllll the time - it's been years since I've done one. I've been itching to do a piece or two of it again, so I figured, 'Eh, why not try a bust of Muzafr with it.' And poof! This piece happened.
I really wanted to put a more details into her scales. I used a 'colour build-up' technique where I just started slapping yellow and blue onto a single layer and refined it, and added the colour last. It was fun and I guessed it helped me focus more on value and detail and such, but eh, y'know. I also drew this on a very small canvas, so hence why it might not be as 'sharp' as it could be, I guess. I won't be making a habit of that technique, let's just put it that way. I have other techniques that I used 'back in the day,' so I'll have to brush the dust off them and maybe tackle a full-body shot of her one day. Inshallah.
Photo of the Golan Heights taken by yours truly. At the very precipice of the very tallest tower of the ruins of as-Subaiba, thank you very much.
Enjoy!
