Reins of the Cloud Serpent - WoW Pumpkin Carving 2013
Well, here is a final rendition for the annual 2013 WoW pumpkin carving I partake in each year! This has been my most intricate and detailed piece thus far and I think I took it a step further in comparison to my last ones haha
I had a few ideas, but the one I was going to do this year, I'm going to wait to do it next year instead. So behold, the Reins of the Cloud Serpent mount from the Mists of Pandaria expansion!
Total time taken was extensive enough. About 4 hours doing all the initial lineart mockups, then about 4 hours figuring lineart on the pumpkin's surface. From there, it took 3 very full and long days of work until the end result.
Also very excited to declare that my pumpkin will be on display at the "Carsley's Comics" shop on St Cat's this year! Very exciting all around.
Since I started pumpkin carving for the first time in 2009, it has become a personal tradition to carve each year, as well as to participate in the Blizzard Entertainment pumpkin carving contest.
This will be my fifth pumpkin! Onyxia was carved in 2009, Skoll in 2010, the Vial of Sands in 2011 and the Shado-Pan Tiger in 2012, all four having made it up on the Honorable Mentions wall on the official Blizzard website!
I also have a little turnaround video up!

EDIT: I don't want to toot my own horn xD but after the reception this carving received, I truly wonder if my Serpent would have placed in the winning position. But since the province of Quebec is disqualified, it was a hands-down no.
Starting in 2014, I began to submit my Ontario home and was able to place in the winning positions, so it really is unfortunate that certain countries/states/provinces just aren't allowed to qualify at all :(

Thanks much! I never go in thinking I'll win, since just participating in general has always been super fun enough for me, but I've been pretty stoked when they've made it up on the Honorable Mentions wall each time, so I'm hoping it'l at least make it there again for this year! xD
