just use more water than color, and if you want the color to be brighter draw over it a few times ^^
a lot of people say you have to use little water for making the colors good, but i prefer it the other way round~
for the sprinkles (like blood or rain for example) i just take an older, hard brush and 'spray' the color on the paper (with your fingers, even if it makes them dirty x3).
