heywulf's Spontoon Island.
Tiki underwent a color change -- probably his summer plumage. :)

A long time ago an old acquaintance of mine (an ex-Disney animator) once told me that "every drawing should tell a story." This is not an illustration for a specific story, but the fact that you asked about the plane means that there's already a story in your mind. It has grabbed your attention, if only briefly, which is the real power of the visual arts (and probably the nicest compliment I can receive on a drawing like this one -- thanks!).
Some of my works, like this one, are deliberately ambiguous and I leave it up to the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Did the plane crash? If so, then Tara and Tiki are sure to find the wreckage. What do they discover? What sort of adventures spring from this incident? Everyone will have a different, yet equally valid answer to those questions.

Precisely correct. That's the very thing *I* had to learn a long time ago, to get my art as good as it is now - every drawing should indeed be intended to convey some story to the viewer. I've read of and heard of so many artists having something they call "artist's block". Personally, I doubt I'll live long enough to draw all the stories I'd love to draw. ^_^
And yes, there are an incalculable number of possibilities from this one picture alone. My reason for asking the question I did is, Tara & Tiki appear to almost recognize the plane. And they don't appear to be headed toward where it might crash... O_O
