I liked how wizard and fortune tellers look in Super Paper Mario so i thought id try and make some thing like them.
This took about an hour to do, i think i made it a bit more difficult then it needed to be.

LOL thats easy!! ^^
You make everything white!
then on layers underneath, you do it in a thick black and make it move with the white.
So the whites overlaps the black even though the black is still thick enough to
show round the edges!
Or an easier way is to use filters ^^ but thats flash 8 and higher ^^

that beard effect is why i wanted to do this.
Each half of the beard is actuly 6 layers, The top 3 layers are the white part of the beard, and the 3 layers under neath them are the lineart, which i made by copying the top layers making them black and expandning them by 5 pixles. Then i turned them all to graphic symbols so i could use tweens on them.
If this dosnt help ill try making a tutorial later

I understand somewhat, having learned a bit of the terminology from at least a year with this program. *laughs* But damn, all that effort for something so simple?... Still, very much worth it!
I see the star is a movie clip -- it doesn't freeze like the rest of the animation when I stop it. Interesting...
