The SDF-1 Macross above the surface of mars. Tried some new painting techniques with this one and even though I said I would stop with the mech work for a bit, this is technically a ship.......sort of anyways ^^.

DYRL versio is acturly listed in documents as have D&P. I decided to check it after I said that. It did have Daedalus stationed with it... however having to deal with translations this could be just like Daedalus was stationed and Prometheus was running supplies or something.
Of course for all we know the translations I'm checking are completly wrong and the two ARMD's had been dubbed D&P.
From what I can tell in the original series ARMD 01 and 02 were destroyed in the initial attack, which we remember as they were about to dock with the Macross. But the two ARMD's docked at the end of the series and all follow up media are also unit numbers 01 and 02.
Since ARMD 03 was called Enterprise and 07 was called Ranger, I can't see why they wouldn't of called the replacement 01 and 02 D&P... otherwise new officers would be asking, "why call it the Daedalus Maneuver". In the end DYRL was mearly a move made and set within the Macross Universe as a 'documentary' of the war for the people taht survived. Since when has a documentary been correct :P

I can't remember when it was said, but saying Macross 7 is a good referance. Remember in one episode they were making a movie based on the events of the war...same thing. DYRL is a movie set inside the macross universe. Because of this events that conflict the actural series don't really conflict as it's not a replacement, nor a retcon. It is mearly a memorial documentary made by a film studio INSIDE the Macross universe setting (infact maybe it is that movie that was being made in Macross 7, that I would not be sure of).
I found it out while trying to do some good old Macross research and when trying to find out about the changes and such.
Also, I do like the carriers because of small referances. D&P from Macross get referanced A LOT! The more recent one being Star Gate SG1. The first Earth Ship was called Prometheus and the second Daedalus (and O'Neil wanted to name the first Enterprise, you can see that as a Star Trek referance or one towards ARMD-03 :P ).
Of course having matching arms is good too ^_^
