I find it creepy when I'm looking around and see someone else looking around and both our eye meet. I've decided that when that happens I try and engage an epic staring contest. Only had a few takers.

1) some people are just overly-extroverted, the kind that will strike up a conversation when they're waiting behind you in a queue.
2) It's just the luck of the draw. It happened to me a couple of times.
3) sometimes, the little slips of paper fall out, or the person putting them inside the cookies misses one or two.
4) One Pez dispenser I bought had no head... it was merely a plain candy dispenser.

1 Yes, not all people are hardwired to adhere to stringent Western social cues. However, I think this is more common on an airplane than on a bus. It is generally understood on a bus or on the tube that you don't necessarily want to interact with people given that your time on the bus is relatively brief.
2. It happened to you a couple of times? Really? You don't find that at all remarkable?
3 This does happen once in every fifty or so cookies I receive. And I generally make this joke every time it happens.
4. PEZ dispensers, in the popular culture, have heads. I am aware that they make them without them, but then all you have are really lame chalky sweets with an uninteresting dispenser.

In Hamburg I once had a guy sitting in front of me who told me in all seriousness that he's "relieved that Pippi Longstocking doesn't really exist". It was a pretty interesting lecture, actually.

LOL, that first one is so true! I had a crackhead sit next to me once in a train car that only had like three people on board...it was a very interesting, incoherent and creepy conversation lol
