This is a little bit of tech from the A&K1 universe. It is a fictitous fighter/ attack aircraft built by the Peoples Republic of China. Its design dates back to a program started in the early 1970's to develop an aircraft for primarily ground attack work with some limited air defense capability too. It started to reach squadron strength in the late 80's. In performance it has described as somewhat to the SEPCAT although its larger size and the addition of a backseater allowed for a dedicated weapons officer post giving it a bit more flexibility. With the addition of electronics upgrades in the 1990's the JH9 was able to add the role of maritime strike to its resume.
The JH9 has been instrutmental in PRC's attempts to keep the Birdies, the alien invaders are avian in nature, from establishing ground bases in their territory. Flying low-level attack missions against sometimes very heavily defended alien positions they've sustained heavy losses. Production continues of the JH9 Hawk but its successor the JH12 Thunderbolt is already beginning to enter service, but due to wartime production needs the model will probably stay in service for a while longer.

Ah, but comrade, those are decadent Western furnishings! Good Communists will have no truck with them!
You’re right, though; it’s as if the designers borrowed the nose and tail design from the Phantom and the midsection from the MiG-23. Who knows? Given that this is supposed to be a Chinese aircraft, maybe that’s what the designers did.

Thanks Yellow! Due to your background your compliment on this piece really means something! It has been interesting reading all the feedback on this piece. I find it interesting how many people see the phantom reference when I thought people would start comparing it immediately to the Jaguar or maybe the AMX. Also I know subconscious was influenced by some examining some early prototype designs for the Mig-23 when they were considering fixed wing and lift engines instead of the VG wing that they went with.
Ah yes, a slight MiG referance comes to mind when you said that with the wings and Engine air intakes =3
Can't see the AMX in there, perhaps the Tail?
Yeah, it is interesting to see other people opinions. In conclusion, the F4 Phantom is definitly in there XD well, the nose =3 The Jaguar (or F1 of both Mirage or Mitsubishi) with the wings, engine air intake and landing gear; and probably the afterburners ^^
You've drawn a great 'what if?' and its awesome ^^ A nice rest from your great 'girls with guns' series ^^
Thanks Baroncoon, I can say the same and value as much when you comment on my works ^^

I like it! Reminds me of a concept model I built awhile back...
