kyorg inspired me to post this. For quite a while, I've been perfecting nuclear tech within minecraft. And here is the control room for this twelve-reactor complex.This is my fourth-generation nuclear plant. I started with one reactor, moved up to six... then eight... and now twelve. Each reactor is stocked to the gills with quad plutonium laid out in a hex pattern for max efficiency. Reactors are carefully kept automatically stocked with coolant, and each has four overclocked heat-vents for when coolant packs fail. It is designed so that when a pack fails, the reactor goes through a hard shutdown sequence... the thermometers shut it off, activate the gizmo that replenishes the coolant, cools it down to a safe temperature, and starts it up again.
The plant also makes use of the bees from the forestry mod... allowing me to cheaply produce refined uranium to be used in the production of plutonium! :D
Things I'm still working on: I have yet to figure out a way to automatically replace fuel cells when they fail... it is not nearly as easy since item ID's change constantly (issue with not wanting to empty the REST of the reactor, and I have things carefully laid out, so...) I am also working with an experimental reactor (5th gen) offsite... that I hope to be fully controlled by computercraft computers... once... I... figure out how to program with the misc peripherals API's. e.e; In the meantime, it is hardwired for safety and I have all my bundled cable laid out and waiting to be used. Despite the safety tech, the reactor has already blown three times. YAY! 8D
