Recovered by the military after events on Priatoris III, K'rrzina was tried for executing her entire squad. Unknown even to herself was that her actions had been controlled by the XEMO-1 bio-program, secretly implanted into her brain. Technically she was not supposed to have survived the mission, the bio-program's orders to have her take her own life after she had fulfilled her objectives, but due to a fluke, those commands were not executed.

Withdrawn into herself, not knowing why she had committed those murders, she refused to speak, even at her own trial. Her sentence was execution via the impulse rack. Strangely enough, however, after the rack was deactivated, she recovered and was released into Dr. Halifair's care on the technicality that her sentence had been carried out. Driven near catatonic from her experiences, she continued to exist under the thrall of the XEMO-1, until...
