VERSION WITHOUT TEXT
It was the dead of night when Sly returned to the room, sighing in disappointment as he tossed his bag of loot in the corner. It wasn't that he did steal anything, rather, it was the opposite. For the past few nights his trips into the city were less than profitable for him as he only managed to snag a few trinkets here and there, nothing of significant worth. As he sat in sorrow over his slim pickings, he heard a rattle at the window and saw a shadowy figure grinning before him. Smirking back at said shadowy figure, he beckons her to come in.
"You always did like to make an entrance."
"Well, I do have a flair for the dramatic..." the stranger said as they twirled their fingers in the air, "...plus you're a sucker for it."
"That I am..." Sly said as he stood up. "So, what brings you to my neck of the woods, Cat?"
"Darling, it's Ms. Black Cat tonight," she says rather smugly, placing her paws on her wide hips.
Sly had always called her "Cat" and never once did she insist on being called Ms. Black Cat but now that she did, his curiosity got the better of him.
"Okay, Ms. Black Cat. Why the change of name?"
"Hon, if I told you, then I'd have to kill you..." she says, giggling as she prances around the room.
Sly was quick on the draw with his own snappy comeback. "Lucky for me, I've got nine lives."
"Well, after tonight, we'll see how many you have left."
The two always did enjoying their verbal jousting of quips and idioms, playing cat and mouse with each other, the two brimming with confidence, always trying to outdo the other. And while they knew this, Cat knew for sure that she had the upper claw on Sly this time.
"So, is that all?" Cat asked, point to the bag in the corner of the room. All Sly could do was nod, disappointed with this catch as he sat back on the bed.
"Aww, poor baby. Fortunately, I happened to get the lion's share for both of us tonight."
He didn't see her with any satchel or bag so what was she talking about? Before he could say anything, Cat slowly unzips the front of her suit, smiling as she reveals the museum's prized ruby, the one he had been scoping out for months.
"Look what the cat dragged in..."
For the first time in his life, Sly was at a loss for words.
"What's the matter hon? Cat got your tongue?"
Sly glared at Cat for that comment as she knew full well why he didn't say anything and even moreso, she was rubbing his face in it. Kneeling on the bed now, he pulls her closer, only to have her whip around in one quick, cat-like motion, locking his head in a hold.
"Looks like the cat's out of the bag, hon, and if you comply, I *might* consider letting you have this..."
Oh, Sly knew she was toying with him, as she always did but in her case there's more than one way to skin a Cat and one way or the other, he was gonna get that ruby from her.
Here's my Halloween themed submission for your entertainment. Tiger and Jas dressed up as Sly Cooper and Black Cat, engaged in some role-playing.
Been a while since I did some creative writing and I'd appreciate feedback on it.
