Ah! I thought so, but I wanted to make sure. x3 I really enjoy this comic, and appreciate the amount of creativity that goes into it.

The term 'lash out' is not lost on me. Then again, back when Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire was out, someone in the Serebii forums wondered if people said 'Tight!' anymore.

If you're referring to that surfer guy who had the awful dub voice (Brody or whatever?), that's another one of those lost-in-translation things - over here (when I was much younger) being 'tight' meant either being precious with your money and not spending it on anything, or just generally being an uptight person.

Anyway, I don't usually use that much slang myself when speaking, but I wanted Tim and Tom to speak authentically - it'd be weird if they started using Americanisms, or worse, Internet-slang (which I don't understand half of myself, I only just figured out what "YOLO" is supposed to mean). On the other hand, I didn't want Tim and Tom to have the Arthur problem (ie. 8 year olds speaking way beyond their years - ie. why would a child care about being Amish, or whether a cartoon character supported a brand of candy they didn't like?) so it's all about the balance. One thing I was certain of, I wanted this story to come from a British perspective, rather than Anywhere, USA (or Japan).

No; in the United States, 'Tight!' was a compliment. You can still see this compliment in Sonic Adventure DX. Besides, I have no idea who is that surfer guy; the poster from Serebii forums (a Pokémon website) simply said:
'Tight! (Do people say "tight" anymore?)'
.

Oh - my bad, I thought it was a reference to a gym leader in the Ruby and Sapphire games. My mistake.

...I forgot his type of speech, since, from what I remember, he speaks quite normally.

They gave him a terrible voice in the 4Kids dub of the anime. I only remember that because Mike Pollock as the narrator was suddenly replaced by a poor-man imitator.

I remember that incident. There were conract problems, but the Internet hated this none the less.
