More fleshing out really; it's been a while since I last wrote this. And yes, my age is showing. When I was growing up, people used to say "lash out" or "go off on one,"; I don't know what people say these days when someone loses their temper. Oh well.

If you're referring to that surfer guy who had the awful dub voice (Brody or whatever?), that's another one of those lost-in-translation things - over here (when I was much younger) being 'tight' meant either being precious with your money and not spending it on anything, or just generally being an uptight person.
Anyway, I don't usually use that much slang myself when speaking, but I wanted Tim and Tom to speak authentically - it'd be weird if they started using Americanisms, or worse, Internet-slang (which I don't understand half of myself, I only just figured out what "YOLO" is supposed to mean). On the other hand, I didn't want Tim and Tom to have the Arthur problem (ie. 8 year olds speaking way beyond their years - ie. why would a child care about being Amish, or whether a cartoon character supported a brand of candy they didn't like?) so it's all about the balance. One thing I was certain of, I wanted this story to come from a British perspective, rather than Anywhere, USA (or Japan).
