this picture was originally supposed to have a story but I can't think of any way to write it.
this is a dream sequence, and though it looks colorful, it's actually one of his nightmares.
i'll leave the rest up to you

I'd imagine that the nightmare would be trying to capture all that color in order to use it to paint, and not being able to grab it, flowing through his fingers, or perhaps he realizes hes tiny, outside himself, watching all his colors drain out of larger, sleeping non dream him.
haha not really a metaphor for sexuality-- the goo is an overwhelming force.
despite it, he's trying to support this thing he's holding with all of his strength.
it's supposed to be a meteor sort of thing and it represents his mind
putting it all together,
his nightmare is probably just an insight into how he is struggling to keep it together with so many different forces overwhelming his mind at once (hence the colorful nature of it, as well)
the crown of thorns is supposed to symbolize humility, and it's cutting into his head which also sort of symbolizes how that's detrimental to his personality
that all sounds pretty gay typed out though

Great insight into your own character. It's something I really need to focus on more, at least with my visual art. I've touched on it in my writing now and then, but I haven't really explored it enough. I think I needed to distance myself from some of the drama I've been through over the last year in order to get a better handle on things.
As far as humility goes..I think there's a difference between having a false sense of humility because you don't want people to think you've got a huge ego, and having a healthy enough amount of self-esteem and self-respect combined with respect for others that you're able to allow yourself to feel and say things about yourself that your friends have been thinking you should be thinking and saying about yourself all along.
It's ok to think you're awesome..cus you are. I see how you are to others, the way you treat folks with no thought of gain besides just making a respected friend feel better..you're good people, Frindle, and you've got an awful lot of talent and make an awful lot of people happy because of it. It's ok to admit it, as long as you don't let it get out of hand.
