Wolven Cast - Episode 18 - Physical VS Digital Games
With the digital era quickly becoming a thing of what is no doubt the direction we are being guided toward as a permanent option I feel it is a perfect moment to express my views on such a thing. At least in terms of games.

I'm kind of with you on having all the games come with a book. I personally think it ads to the experience of buying the physical game somehow. I guess I have an appreciate for extra effort in things. I would guess the companies that make the final decisions on packaging would see the manual as an extra that is not needed since most games, even from years ago, would also have instructions programed into the game disc which is good when you get a used game where someone's sold the game without it's book.
I love having a physical disc enough, that when everything goes digital, I might be done with new games.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too. It is like bringing home a new toy and you get to sit down and study the manual and learn how it works. Admitedly I rarely read the manual at all however even with games that come with their tutorials and so forth I sometimes find myself forgetting some of the controls. So the manual comes in handy and it saves me having to go through menus and the likes to find what I am looking for. But there are benefits, enviromentally and convenience wise, in having things digital. As I said in this podcast sometimes it is better but I would hate to see all the awesome collector's editions suddenly stop.
