It's usually easy to spot the ignition of the second stage engines from Vandenberg, but the Falcon 9 burns a "dirty" combination of liquid oxygen (LOX) and highly refined kerosene (RP-1), so the second stage ignition and burn was spectacular. Easily visible without the need for magnification.
I think at this point the vehicle is about 100mi downrange form where I was taking photos.
