I have no clue what is going on here.
Seriously, I just draws 'em as they come to me, boys. I rarely actually have anything in particular in mind when I start drawing something, so stuff like this happens.
So, listen, I know a lot of y'all love cars, and I love cars too, but I've getting emails. And I want y'all to appreciate, that when I draw a car I bear the right to draw it a little different than it actually is. There was one dude who honestly expected me to correct my last car picture, because I had put the side trim of the '60 model together with the grill of a '59. I liked that style better. He also said, "I'm shocked at you could of made such a mistake when clearly you were looking at a picture of the car when you drew it." Why that would mean I would have done it on purpose. Unthinkable.
What I'm doing now is trying to draw that at which I am not good. Putting people in cars is difficult. Right now I'm ignoring the fact that Koor is supposed to be almost a foot taller than Vermilion.
Anyway, so, yeah. I have no idea how this picture came to be what it is now. Most of my pictures are like that.
Yes, that thing off to the left is a streetcar. I went overboard. How unlike me.
I guess this is a public service announcement. Kids, don't drive high.
So, I was going to send this picture to an admin and ask whether it should be marked mature or not before posting it, but I really just want to post this and go to bed. Send me a missive, if it needs to be changed I'll do it by nine. Playin' it fast and loose with F.A.'s reputation for clean family fun.

Oh my gosh. This is a great piece. :) And yes, you shouldn't feel stifled from having your own take on anything. Purists will often be there, but most of them are at least a little understanding -grin-
I want to take my next vacation in dracotown so I can admire the architecture. The articulated trolley makes me squeal happily. :)

Eleven years later: Actually around three years ago i decided Vermilion actually looks pretty good as Cheech Marin, and a friend pointed out that he's more a deadpan version of Cheech. And Vemilion is Mexican. (Cheech was born in LA tho, Vermilion in Oaxaca)
That has got to be the coolest street car I've ever seen. Looks very roomy. :)
That also makes me think of your message about not driving high. I'd like to add that it holds even more true for the folks riding on trolleys and buses. They eventually have to disembark and become pedestrians. As such an individual, it's frightening to come across drivers not paying attention or following the laws. I've almost been killed several times by people who either weren't looking out for pedestrians or felt they didn't have to, even when I clearly had the right of way. That was even true when I was a school boy, and the school bus was stopped with the stop arm out and the flashing red lights ablaze.
I'm digressing, though...
Fabulous work, and it looks like an exciting city to visit. Lots of cute Dragons. :)

I don't know about other cities, but I can't find an old building in Seattle that's not three feet further from its neighbor at the cornice than at the plinths. It's the bedrock, we don't have any. Even Columbia Tower is sitting on nothing but shifting glacial till.
I love the world you've created here. The detail you put into everything, even the trim and columns of the trolley, is just astounding and beautiful and helps this world come alive. I have no idea what's going on, but this looks like a very interesting place to visit, to say the least!
Seriously, I love how much personality is in not just the characters, the but the vehicles and background as well.

I am blushing =>.<= These are the things I hope people take away from these little pictures, I hope that people can imagine what the rest of this city looks like.
