A small ground beetle I found while digging last weekend. It was very docile and was difficult to convince to leave my finger.

That's a pretty beetle.

Slightly unrelated, but I got bit by a ladybug! It didn't really hurt, but I was just surprised it actually bit me.

Some of the invasive ladybug species from asia can be a bit aggressive.

If I see good there are two supraorbital setae, than it's not a Harpalus. I will see in my books, sorry when I'm wrong.

I think it's a Pterostichus sp., but I don't have any books for the "US species"
But it's a beautifull beetle.
