
Made this in my farrier class last week and forgot to post. YAY for learning to shape metal :D. Half of an old horse shoe shaped into a hoof pick :)

Looks like that shoe might've had some borium/drilltek on it at one point, judging by the brass in the fuller. May I make a recommendation? Lengthen the tip some more and make the end straight. It'll pick a lot better! Nice taper, and I really appreciate the hammer control. It takes focus to keep the handle looking like a horse shoe. This is honestly a really good forging!
I don't think that is brass most likely dirt (I think) not to sure because it was a shoe from there used pile. I haven't forged anything for years now. Haven't had access to one but thanks for the advice on it. I'll see if I can find it again because after that picture I took it back and my instructor actually put a horse head on it!
