Looks like that shoe might've had some borium/drilltek on it at one point, judging by the brass in the fuller. May I make a recommendation? Lengthen the tip some more and make the end straight. It'll pick a lot better! Nice taper, and I really appreciate the hammer control. It takes focus to keep the handle looking like a horse shoe. This is honestly a really good forging!

I don't think that is brass most likely dirt (I think) not to sure because it was a shoe from there used pile. I haven't forged anything for years now. Haven't had access to one but thanks for the advice on it. I'll see if I can find it again because after that picture I took it back and my instructor actually put a horse head on it!

Ah, awesome! I've been trying to get better at horse heads. It's a little challenging but it's very rewarding.

Ahhh I remember making stuff like this in the forge during downtime in my classes too X3 good fun stuff! ^.^
