Okay so, my first try at manga studio 5, it just came in the mail, so far I'm loving it, it's on sale right now so I suggest you all get it 30 bucks off while you still can. I'd be happy with it even if I paid full price, tbh.
So yeah, this is also my first attempt at monochrome shading, manga/comic style. I'm going to use this same line work and do my normal method of full color full detail, or maybe just simple shading. The advantages to this monochrome style is that I can get more done faster, it just lacks color or gradient shading.
I plan to start making a super hero comic soon, yes it will have furries, but in this universe, furries are just another race of human, more or less. So I'm trying to decide if I want to stick with this monochrome style or stick with my normal method which takes more effort and time. The reason I didn't want to make it exclusively furry is because that would be boring, imo, I want to be able to have aliens, and robots and characters from different dimensions, etc etc. Which is part of the appeal of super hero comics for me.
Also, this will be a fairly mature comic, but I don't intend to add sexual content, sorry. I've got a nice concept for a story, I just need to iron out the details, maybe even seek help for writing.
I really need a lot of advice before I get this officially underway, this character here is a character I came up with playing city of heroes for years and I'm re-imagining his design. His super hero name is Falcon Striker. I'll be uploading concept ref sheets for all the primary heroes and villains, among other note worthy characters. Those will however be full color ref, obviously since they're ref sheets.
