Winning the election for mayor isn't all it's chalked up to be.
It's taken the better part of a year, but Vancouver is back on its feet. More of less. Tommy's been no small part of that success, but not everyone agrees with what he's been doing.
Nasty letters are just the start of it. By the time things are finished this wolf is going to go toe-to-toe with the most insidious threat yet.
And his greatest advantage will be worth nothing against this foe.
Well, public life isn't for everyone.
Don't have a clue what's going on? Welcome to the hunt. Start with the first book!

Another nice chapter Sir, the background on the V-town PD was interesting. I just hope Administrator Taggart remembers the old adage "The victor writes the history", because it sure seems that the police aren't that different then the old force that Sayer describes. It sounds like the force really needs to be introduced to the concept of "civil service". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_.....ice_commission
As far as the difficulty in controlling a machine gun mounted to a tripod. My experience with Machine guns mounted on a tripod, shows that they are relatively easy to control. Of course skill and experience come into play.
Throw in a couple of sandbags on the tripod legs to help had weight and a T&E (transverse & elevation) device, and you can take very accurate well aimed shots at long range.

Thanks again!
You are quite right about victors writing the history. I also like the line about 'He who fights monsters...'
You know, what they really need is a new dog to take the reins of power from old Sayer. Someone younger, perhaps. Someone experienced with the force. Maybe someone who's seen a bit of the world. Someone who'll be getting an expanded backstory soon...
Ha! Now that's why I need someone to consult with regarding firearms, perhaps a good dawg. The closest I've ever gotten to a machine gun is the far side of a television screen.
Though, in my defence, I doubt the humans have ever gotten their hands on a gun before, likely something of that magnitude. Brings up an interesting question of where it would have come from. And in such good condition too...
