Here is a second view of an old project of mine. I made it in 4 hours using basic tools while in high school. That is a busted, Russian made 9ax7 tube if I remember correctly. I was on a big steam punk kick for a while, I will post other stuff later if people are interested.
Everything is brass and glass in this. I think I was even using silver based solder at this point. I really disliked (and still do) the "lets hot glue gears to this shit" approach to steam punk. This was the only thing I did with gears ever.

wow, hard core man! :D Silver solder, the whole nine yards!
The cool thing about this is that it could actually be functional, like if it were inserted into a machine, turned by its gears so that it had rotating contacts (like a DC motor) that somehow made the machine work by using the alternating processing of the tube... or.. it could be a thingamadoodle or a whachamacallit :)
Bottom line, this is cool... nuff said! :D
