My prototype breastplate! This is a little misleading--I actually made this about a year ago, and didn't get pictures until now. I wanted to wear it around to some events to get a feel for what needs to be changed in the future. My Ringwyrm armor took into account those changes! (Actually, there was only one big one: the armpit holds are too small.) Other than that, this armor is really comfortable. I can wear it around all day and the only real issue is the armpits. It fits a T-shirt size L to XL.
So this is a relatively lightweight breastplate, great for LARP and cosplay but probably not great for the SCA. It has an articulated front so you have a really wide (almost full) range of motion in your midriff. The dragon on the front is my own design.

Yup, pretty much all of my hides are super thin, as I usually only make corsets or rarely pants (evvviiil pants, how I hate making any) I was trying to cheat because I got a really good deal on a dragon textured hide, had a time frame, and the only thicker leather I have still has the short elk fuzz on it and I was holding out to make lazy day boots. =3=
I love your Trek bracers btw, I'll save your Etsy site.

Clothing I can do/get away with, the armor was kinda...sad. I've hesitated even posting it XD I'm always terrified someone in SCA will see it. It's like "ekk don't look!"
I find it's impossible to find rivets that can handle the thin leather, but I see them on purses or such things, and it's not always appealing to thicken with spare chunks. I really like using them and I am terrible, as in I am lazy/ hate sewing. It's my great white buffalo to find some that fit. I seriously get a bit vexed sewing leather, my machine handles it well. I just hate using it. My poor neighbors in the apt pod, whenever I am working on costumes I try to watch movies to hide the sound of the mallet or me cussing at my machine or my missed hit.
Eventually I want to make a molded breast plate, or rage quite and get some customs. I've only half successfully done a few attempts of corset attached armor. All the ladies armor patterns are pretty..uh, not, attractive in the bust department. (seriously, if there even is coverage, it's usually pretty awful.)

There are extra small rivets you can get at Tandy Leather Factory that go pretty thin. As a heads up though, the sound of the mallet goes RIGHT through walls. X)
I tried to make a corset once, but it didn't turn out right at all. I'm currently experimenting with molded breast cups to put on some kind of chest armor. (I might start off with something that has only a little coverage, since I don't want to use up a lot of leather experimenting.) I've seen some alright-looking ones, but yeah, most of them kinda suck or just show off too much cleavage...

I found some of those, but the post on them is still pretty long. I went to the portland leather company and they also didn't have that but their service was way more professional than tandy (both are here in town yay) So I ended up pulling a no-no and just simply cutting the post to the right size, reshaping and using those. I know it's bad, but eh it's mostly cosmetic....and for my birthday everyone bought me rivets and soap making supplies because they were the cheapest things on my wishlist. XD
I found a couple neat ones, but I don't have them on my phone. I can link you some of the ideas people have gone with when I get back from hating retail :P
I have a little collection going because I rarely find female armor that isn't all Xena styled. The two slabs of leather sewn together or laced to make a bra so to speak is kinda tacky and most often seen.
