Oh Jeez! Where do I begin with this one?
Last February everybody was so pumped up and excited that Mewtwo from
the first movie and special was coming back after last January's big
announcement of Pokemon X and Y coming out in 10 months, but then
Kunihiko Yuyuma, the guy who directs ALL the pokemon movies INCLUDING
THE FIRST MOVIE decides to turn this Mewtwo, who already was developed
over time into an OC of his own by making her "transform" into "Mewthree".
(DO NOT STEAL)
Yeah, a lot of older pokemon fans including Japanese Mewtwo fans are so
confused and angry if it was the same Mewtwo from the previous movie and
special, turns out from the Japanese Mewtwo fans who saw the 16th movie,
it's a completely different individual. (I even bet the US Mewtwo fans can't
believe this after the English dub was premiered last month.)
A lot of people hate her.
Here's my opinion about her: I like her.
I had to defend her like CR defending Super Mario Bros. the Movie for trying
being different, so what's good about her in her prologue special and the
Genesect movie?
First, the most obvious, her Mega Evolution Y form. Before the Mega
Evolutions was introduced, everybody thought this form was either an
evolution or a different individual (Mewthree). Some felt their childhood is
gone forever, which is stupid. Some felt angry at Game Freak for their decision,
which is even more stupid. We don't even know what the form can do or how
can you require it at this point, mind you. Overtime with some massive fan art
of the form, we slowly got used to her. Also, the voice fits the form nicely.
She used the form most of the time in her fights, which means she's a magical
girl rather than a Freeza.
Then, there was her prologue special, Prologue to Awakening, which is almost
completely pointless to be a prologue.
The new characters and villain are never mentioned again in the 16th movie
after that, although the action scenes with her and her Y form are quite
decent, imo.
The anime writers went to the lazy route for her back story, which is almost the
same as M01 Mewtwo's, but slightly different(If you guys read that manga
adaption of the 16 movie and the prologue special, it'll be full circle after that).
She was created from unknown scientists. Who are the scientists they are from
and how and Y did they make another Mewtwo from another Mew fossil? Lazy
writing! Also, How did M16 Mewtwo got a Mega Evolution (which only
requires a "_____"nite , a Mega Stone, and a trainer.) is never explained ,
because bad writing and marketing Pokemon X and Y the wrong way possible!
I really wish they flesh her out more to be more likable, but I don't think they
don't care about her enough!

Someone better make a comic about that on tumblr or something!
The one thing they got it right is her personality and trying something
different (At least they tried
http://cbsmancave.files.wordpress.c...../you-tried.gif.). I wouldn't say
she's motherly or kind, I would say she more determined and free-spirited,
more like a hero than anti-hero. Somehow, that takes away about Mewtwo
being the most savage heart of all pokemon. Sure, she didn't trust humans
from the start (which annoyed some older viewers) , but over time she got
used it protecting them from the Red Genesect in their fight in the city at
night and that anti-climatic ending.
*cringed over the friendship message*
The way she fights is different, she's fast normally in the air, but more faster in
her Y form with an ability "Insomnia", which why is it's called "Mewtwo
Awakened". Her movesets are Aura sphere, Psychic, and Protect. My only gripe
is that she's kinda weak. She never got any training from her travels, which is
why she get hits several times. Mewtwo are supposed to be really powerful
special attackers and the Y form boost special attack and speed.
The Genesect movie was ok. It was your normal Ash and Co. saving the
Pokemon Hills mostly at night time plot from an army of less focused, but
threatening Genesect. I only come for the Mewtwo, stayed for that awesome
Feraligatr that interests me . :3
The worst marketing move that Kunihiko Yuyuma did to the Japanese fans is
to broadcast the first movie and the special of the previous presuccessor in HD
BEFORE the Genesect movie came out. Glad Cartoon Network US didn't do
that with the first movie, instead only showed the 15th movie, which is
awesome, imo. :3 Him and his anime writers don't care about older fans and
think new fans aren't smart enough to notice the difference. Well, guess what?
THEY DO NOTICED!!!
In the end, it's a complete draw for both the anime writers and the older fans.
Yuyama and his writers did made some money at the box office (bombed in
Japan), but lost respect from the older and new fans for a while. We just
moped in disappointment and thought to ourselves what were they
thinking? She may be good for some, but she'll always be under the shadows
of her predecessor.
(Even if she becomes a secret character for Smash Bros. 4.)
But our disappointment didn't last that long.:3
We got the Mega Mewtwo X form last September, which is a huge relief and
opening opportunity for the original come back with good writers and a
director (and continuity) better than those guys any day.
And one month after that.....

I like fem mewtwo as well. I mean lets just think about it for a moment. After making the first mewtwo and failing to bring him back I really don't think team rocket would want to give up on the strongest living weapon in the pokemon world plus not ALL the files I'm sure were lost after mewtwo had a ultra tantrum so its safe to say they tried once more to make a mewtwo but maybe though making it female would make it more dosile and willing to take orders so this leads me to think there are 2 mewtwos. Ontop of that the fist mewtwo remembered Ash when they ran into each other for the second time while the new one didn't know Ash yet Ash knew about mewtwo. The final nail in this was that in the end of the second movie mewtwo was in he hid himself within a city wearing a torn brown cloke (pokemon batman!) while the new mewtwo has been flying around all over the place before settling down in a cave far away from people. All in all I like the old and the new but not everyone are going to agree with things.
The Japanese version of the song with an extended moment and don't forget the English version of the song.
