
Some inking practice after I seriously hated the inks on that last piece. Threw some Col-Erase in there for tone. These guys are djinnikind according to D&D - as far as I know dao and jann are invented for that setting and don't feature in Middle Eastern stories,

Jann aren't exactly the way they are in D&D, but they ARE in Persian mythology as the weakest of geniekind- Pathfinder's version of geniekind is a little closer to the mythology, where the "Dao" are in fact known as "Shaitan," and are one rank above the Djinn in power. From least to greatest-

I also learned the ranks of geniekind watching the 1960 Arabian-fantasy film "The Wizard Of Baghdad," starring Dick Shawn as a lazy genie threatened with becoming mortal if he doesn't aid in fulfilling a prophecy. Not a historically- or mythologically accurate film by any stretch, but it got a FEW things right, and watching it is pure campy, cheesy goodness.
