I hardly ever buy adoptables. Even get tired of seeing so many of them around sometimes. But for some reason I kept coming back and looking at this little girl and wanting her. So when no one else had grabbed her after a day or so, I did.
Her name is Tabu and she is a good luck talisman, though she doesn't realize it. Just being near her will usually bring good luck to people. Touching her pretty much guarantees it. Poor girl wonders why so many of her friends are the touchy feelie kind, but never really thinks about it too much. She's too busy enjoying life to ponder little stuff like that.

Yeah, you really do see adoptable characters absolutely everywhere these days. I have to admit that I still quite like them, and I often find it hard to resist buying more. Though I can understand why you might get a bit fed up with them sometimes.
That said, this lady is quite adorable, and it's no wonder you found her so irresistible. She's a really interesting mix of species, and she looks like a total sweetheart. I love the idea of her being a living good luck charm, too, though I promise not to touch without permission! Or anyway, I'll try...

I used to hate adoptables. I avoided them like the plague. Then I was gifted one, then I bought one, breaking my rule.... Then I saw two that were just tooooo cute..... And I sold out again. :P
The only thing I won't do is buy the ones where someone has clearly just recolored the same palette. I won't adopt one of those. If I'm going to get an adoptable, it'll be a one of a kind. :)

I think I've bought 3 adoptables all told. (if my old brain is working right....which is always open to question) Not counting the ladies that Foxene used to auction on FurBuy. Of course those were one of a kind and not exactly adoptables....or at least I never thought of them as such. And all of my girls have been one of a kinds. I wouldn't have it any other way.
See? That's how they get you. I promised myself I was only ever going to buy the one, but so many people have such cute ideas! Though I agree with you on the templated ones. I tend to prefer unique designs, or at least those that aren't just cloned a half a dozen times. Actually, my favorites aren't traditional adoptables at all, but characters people created for themselves and then later decided to sell for whatever reason. Of the characters I've adopted, the best ones were the ones I bought that way. I guess I'm just a sucker for orphans.
Aha! The truth comes out. It's a sensitivity to that particular word. I kinda thought so. I've heard you say something about it before. Too bad they overused it so much. And apparently used it incorrectly if they were referring to pix that weren't cute. Ah well....that's how it goes.
Your opinion. But if everybody thought that way we wouldn't say gesundheit when someone sneezes or....well I'm sure you could think of many other examples where foreign language words have found their way into our language merely because someone began to use them for fun or whatever.
