My photo setup in case any one was curious.
I used the helmet on a broken tripod to adjust the lighting and focus.
Green screen isn't necessary, but it makes selections easier.
an overhead light would have made it more accurate, I could only do so much with burn and dodge layers.
Used a color correction layer and saturation adjustment layer.
Lightroom was used to remove lens distortion and adjust the white balance to that cool purple tint.
Wish I knew how to use Flash, I could have made an interactive image where you can turn on and off the layers to see what they do like my school does for Photoshop and lighting tutorials.
Background was made using a black layer, a 10% clouds rendered layer on luminance, and a painted color layer in between with a large limestone texture.

At 24mm you should be safe with f/7.1, in fact f/7.1 is usually the sharpest. I've only used f/11 and over for forced perceptive work back in school, that's just me of course. If you're worried about DOF set up a stick or object where your head is going to be and focus on that.
I've had that since 08' and it holds up pretty well, unlike my last helmet which left that scar in my upper lip.
The story is pretty good which is why I bought it, yet it's too short. The multiplayer is addictive, even though I suck at it and ends up pissing me off.
There's also currently a mouse acceleration issue for PC, basically they have an acceleration overlay for the controller, but it doesn't turn off.
so the mouse feels weird and is unusable.
