This is what I do with my wind down time. Work on a brainchild project. YEP! Finishing four masks in one month's time :D felt like I wanted to work on something of my own quickly :)
Drafted the pattern, Cut out pieces, and sewed hood together between yesterday and today. Glued pattern on and added details today! Talk about a fast project! 0.0 I even finished a few simple gloves between yesterday and today too! wtf. I'm getting swifter at this. I JUST HAD SUCH A VISION OKAY. SUCH VISION. SO FURSUIT.
ANYWAYS.
WELL. SPECS!! :D*Resin base cast with a translucent RED nose! After base was prepped. I drilled two holes in the back of the nose from the inside. There I glued in two wired up red leds! worked so well! fffffff
*Made from my Reindeer base
*Turquoise/mint green eyes! my own pattern :3
*three types of fur used. The rest is painted :3 (Hand painted No airbrush used as per always with me)
*A little throat pouch area for realism :3 That spot is made with monkeyshag from DF. 4 inch pile fur! The rest of the white is arctic fox white from fabricempire! The brown is unavailable in fabricempire's inventory as of now. ;_; but I have some left!
*Has no tongue/jawset yet. STILL need to sculpt and mold that ;n;

BY THE WAY he will be having antlers! as soon as I have the funds I will be ordering custom antlers (funny enough. They're antlers for horses. handmade, soft, and safe!) From here!

This guy is for me :3 I'm going to try my best to arrange as many local "meet santas" and other things! bring some children some holiday cheer :3 Getting hugs from Rudolph!
I'm going to try and make myself my first ever full suit with this. As without a full costume it wouldn't be as magical and that's really the reason I'd take it that far. I want it to be something that children won't even believe!
Check out here, I'm offering another mask/ small partial using an identical pattern as this! :D http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12042906/

I did have some trouble as this was my first furred deer etc, furring around the nose while leaving the nostrils open looking nice, I got some nasty fur edge going on but I decided it was okay to add a bit of black apoxie to cover that up. and it didn't block the color/ pattern of the nose while lit :3 I was struggling with that for a while Xb
I think it turned out lovely ^^
I find a good way to hide edges with a softer material is to glue fleece on the edge with one side folded over and then ladder stitch the seam between the fur and fleece to hide that. Makes for a lovely transition to resin and is more "color customizable" than apoxie.

Realistic deer muzzles are probably the most difficult to get right among the more common species, it's due to the position of the eyes in RL deer I guess. In your masks they look spot on though. I think what does the trick is the "bump" which leads to the larger part of the skull, it gives the feeling of a larger forehead which looks a lot more humanlike that a RL ungulate head.
I couldn't believe it. I was like GOLD MINE! exactly what I need! Also Monoyasha told me she's making a set of reindeer antlers too! :D available to be cast in plastic/foam. (she's totally going to make a mask with one of my reindeer bases and I just want to explode with excitement and honor) ANYHOO.
Goodness... this base would make a gorgeous winter Kirin...
Although I adore this mask and I am incredibly tempted. It looks like a reindeer, love the shape of the nose and ears and head... so many folks don't do ungulates right that this is a total joy to see.
Love your work. Absolutely love it.
