This is Darkwing, a dragon character belonging to
darkwingdragon. He wanted a charactersheet but when I read the description and what he means to do, protecting forests and being a general good soul, I couldn't resist painting this scene. :D
The stag embodies darkness, death and despair.

I would have almost expected that a guardian of a forest and the embodiment of death would find some way to exist, as death is a natural part of life. But, then again, this might not be that sort of death. Almost seems more like a more...I don't want want to say sinister. Like, I wouldn't say the guardian is good either. Both merely just are what they are. Forces of nature, in other word. But I could be reading this wrong, or thinking way too hard about it. Either way, it's quite a fascinating picture.
I really like the concept behind this piece, and its execution is simply beautiful! The contrast in characters and colors translate harmoneously with the meanings behind them! This is such a masterpiece, and is now one of my favorites!
I know in the end, that dragon will save that forest! ;) He will give it his all, and nothing can take him down!

For serious: Oh it's epic by alector fencer? Yeah that is norm. *nod* I like it all every time!!! Way to go! This is really great with the dragon being good instead of evil. More good dragons are needed! I much approve!
