Does your camera have macro Zoom setting? That might help keep the forward thrust limb from leaving the focal field?
If you are using macro Zoom, you might want to take the shot from an inch or two further back, or add more light. Even something as simple as a desk lamp on either side of the figure can improve the image in the camera's eye.

Not a problem, those 'macro' settings usually describe the focal length as 0-12 inches, or something like that, but there's still a minimum focus distance, and if it's a digital camera, more light will help the CCD chip to capture the image quickly, improving image quality.
