I might have seen this somewhere else, but to me it represents how he sees the world:

The big circle represents humanity as a whole, the small circles represent the groups in we seperate eachother(race, religion, sex, working class, etc.) and the lines show how they are connected, but when comes to the center, we are all the same.
We are all born.
We all age.
We all die.
