my mind is filled with all sorts of strange, bizarre, spiffy, and sometimes downright creepy creatures. this is one of them. a w'Hi (pronounced a lot like the Englished word "why".) an illusive, predatory and solitary race these creatures are nocturnal. they don't have faces - they don't even have eyes - and where a face should be is a large sensory organ much like the melanin of a dolphin. they have mandibles like insects for ingesting their prey.

their long limbs serve to aid them in climbing over obstacles in search of prey, or during the hunt. the way they incapacitate their prey is by asphyxiation with their long, bony fingers. once their prey is dead they will carry it to a safe location (under a log, high in a tree, or in a crypt) and slowly consume it.

w'Hi are solitary, and i still can't figure out about their reproduction. i don't know if they are even kind to each other during mating - it may be that the more dominant one becomes the "female" and, much like a praying mantis, might devour its mate after mating. "she" probably just gives birth to an infant and - if she's not hungry - just leaves it alone or - if she is hungry - attempts to eat it.

they're not BAD per ce, just not your average, cuddly creature.
