Wow, he looks great!
Have you ever thought of trying to make something like this, and then casting it in either pewter or resin? If you made a design like this and then produced like a series of 25 of them, I bet people would line up to buy one (I know I probably would). Just a thought.

Thanks so much! And yes, I've thought about that quite a bit, it's good to hear there'd be interest! Thought about doing something generic and cute, or maybe a basic few species (like a canine, feline, mustelid, etc!) and then offering custom paints on them or something. It's more a matter of time and materials, I need to research casting stuff (most likely resin, pewter would weigh a ton!) and then invest in the right equipment - eventually I'll find the time to do it!
Cool. I should clarify, what I was thinking of personally is unpainted busts, like what you can get from a kit (like Warhammer pieces or other game pieces). I'd really like the opportunity to paint a figure like this, because it's so different from a lot of the gamepiece kits or other fantasy stuff you can buy (and I'm a terrible sculptor, lol).
Ahh, I get ya! I've already fooled around with casting alternate heads for Space Marine-sized miniatures that I've sculpted (since they're so itty bitty that's a bit easier). Eventually I want to do more of my own 28mm scale model type stuff, too. What sort of bust would interest you? I could see myself doing an orc or werewolf or something like that :3
I guess practice is paying off! I think a part of it, too, is that when I first started I tried to restrict my perfectionism and not spend too long on each bust so I wouldn't get carried away... and now I just let myself get carried away because it's more satisfying. But practice is definitely the larger part, I think! THANK YOU!
This is pretty much amazing!
I'm not sure what to say. It was a surprise from
dbear that I only recently learned about and I'm super grateful and happy to have him around and his caring thoughtfulness and to you for your efforts that obviously show. You did a great job getting the colors (I love the purple nose with the specular glare) down as well as the expression.
This is really great! Thanks so much you guys!
