More adventures in the world of hand poked tattoo. I took this pic myself, so keep in mind it's angled a little weird and thus slightly warped looking. Except for that lone eye on my right leg, all my tattoos have been done without machine or electricity. My band, Moontrail, also happens to be a tattoo collective and the three of us practice on each other.
I know a lot of folks out there are really into the nice clean lines and vibrant color of modern electric powered tattoo. Modern equipment lends itself very well to representative art and there are some mind blowing artists out there that can do very realistic and clean work. But the old ways really call out to me and if you do some research, you might find yourself falling in love with so-called "primitive" (indigenous is a better term) work. This is one of my most favorite sites ever: http://larskrutak.com/
Anyways, my tattoos aren't perfect, they don't look like paintings, but they're done with love and intent, and that's the most important thing to me.
