I made this Gargoyle last year in grade 10 for a studio project. When making him, we even had to create a name, personality and story around them, which I had some fun with, naming mine Fred.
Fred was a hybrid of a dragon and Gargoyle, so naturally he was different looking then all the other Gargoyles, so they often avoided and excluded Fred. On top of that poor Fred had a terrible condition- his fire starter in his throat that would act up randomly when he was nervous, so most others wouldn't dare go near him for fear of being burned into a pile of ash. Fred lived in a church, and in the church people walked by him all the time, so he was never afraid of them. One day, a little girl stopped in front of him and looked right at him, saying "You look lonely up there all alone, Mr. Gargoyle. You have wings- so why don't you fly away?". Before he could respond to the little girl and elder came by and hurried her away to join up with the others in her group. He felt sad, and after may more days of being lonely, he decided he would do just that. So, he spread his wings and flew out of the church to the top, breathing in the outside air. He spent the night outside, and with the moon and stars as company, it didn't feel as lonely for him. The next morning, he woke when he felt eyes on him. At first he didn't notice her, as she was as dark as the roof and so dissolved into it in the dim morning light, but there was a metal Gargoyle up on the roof with him. When she began to advance toward him he felt so nervous that he knew he was going to breath fire, and so tried to flee so he wouldn't hit her, but she turned in front of him to block his exit, and a bright wave of scolding fire hit her full force. He cried out and fell over, then scrambling up shouting 'I'm sorry, I'm so sor-" and saw her standing there with a smile on her face, and not even a smudge of as to her complexion. "I've watched you for a long time from up here, though the skylight there..." She said, waving her ail to the skylight behind her and again smiling radiantly. "...and I've always wanted to meet you. My names Lina...and you are....?" His eyes were still wide with shock, but for the first time in what seemed ever, his lips somehow manged to fold up into a smile. The voice he had forgotten he had hesitantly manged to slip out of his throat, "..I-I-cough-...I'm Fred...". "Well, Fred," Lina said. " It's nice to finally meet you."
And Fred was never lonely again. The end.
