I always wondered why he was going to become a grey donkey while everyone else became brown ones.

Okay Pinoke, time to run after Lampy so you guys can end up in the same crate (or somehow escape the island) and be little donkey pals together. If you can still talk, then drink some more beer. Heck, share some with Lampy, you're already donkeys, it's not like you can get any worse. Er, then again, those tend to be famous last words.

Still, at least this way, if Pinoke did freak out and catch up to Lampy, he wouldn't just run off only to end up God knows where.

I saw some grey donkeys in the crates in the earlier scene. I assume you become a gray donkey if you have black hair, otherwise you turn brown. What if Lampwick were a red donkey? That might look strange.

What earlier scene was that? I remember Lampy became a brown donkey with a black mane. Which is a shame as he'd look neat with a red mane. All of the other donkeys in the crates as far I remember from that scene were brown.

I would like to have a read of this alternate ending

I used to have the original book, the cricket was splatted in the first few chapters (pinocchio threw his shoe at him) pinocchio meant well but wasn't too bright, allowing him to get easily tricked by the other schoolkids (He also cried a lot when he knew he was in the wrong and was also lazy). That one kid that got fully turned in the movie? He DIED in the book because his owner was as much of an ass as he was now literally.

It'd be awesome if not for the whole enslaved and forced into hard labor that results in a near death experience thing.

I'm still surprised that Disney gave no happy endings to all those children.

So many Disney movies got a sequel too but not this one and this one had so many loose ends to tie up. Dumbo almost got a sequel but it was cancelled.
