I'm expecting to be hit. Very hard.
You know Trapinch don’t have any hair on their heads, but as you stare into the basin of water in your little bedroom, you’re sure you have the worst case of bedhead in history… After a quick wash, you head to the dining room. Sieglinde is waiting by the door for you. The Virizion gives you a hard stare for a moment and then produces a small pouch, tossing it to you. “Here, consider it a joining reward. It would be more, but Aemi claimed half of it for ‘butt-trauma’.”
You gained 100 Growth Points!
“When she stops grumbling and opens up her store, you’ll be able to buy healing items, new attacks, and other things. Considering how small you are…” Sieglinde smirks and turns to walk off. “I’d consider investing in evolution.” You know the Virizion means well, but you hope she warms up soon or you might have to find a fire to lay down next to.
The dining room is rather quiet; after all, there’s only five of you. Sieglinde joins Aemi and Shade, the three busy with conversation, and Nate waves happily at you. You join him for a filling meal of berries, but you can’t help but wish it was another Pokemon. Your jaws snap happily as you drool a bit. Perhaps a nice Eevee or maybe one of those electric rodents running around.
“MISSION TIME!” A loud voice echoes through the halls as a Chatot flies in. With a squawk, he hangs three pieces of paper on a large wooden board and leaves. You stand and walk over, ready to read, but Shade interrupts you.
“Hey, you two!” The Giratina makes his way to the board. “If you’re going to be going on missions and all, I thought you should have this.” He hands you and Nate both shiny gold badges. “As long as you’re not dead, those will save your rears. Just don’t expect to get any rewards for failing a mission, got it?” He winks at you and whispers to you. “It also helps you get rid of… unsightly stomach bulges a little faster, catch my drift?”
Sieglinde clears her throat and your guildmaster straightens up. “Anyway, go out there and make us proud and all that jazz!”
Turning your attention to the board, you examine the three missions:
A} There is No Spoon! (Difficulty: * ) Client: Ralts
They say that there is a spoon at the bottom of a nearby dungeon that boosts psychic powers. Bring it to me! If anyone gets in your way, feel free to take them out!
B) It’s Dangerous to Go Alone, Bring Help! (Difficulty: **) Client: Sandile
We’re attempting to bring a supply caravan through the Lost Woods to our village, but we keep getting harassed by bandits! Please, we need help, badly!
C) Avast Ye, Me Hearties! (Difficulty: ***) Client: Captain Mack Spearow
My crew turned mutinous on me and they’ve taken my ship, the White Gem, from me! Help me get revenge on these scalliwags and swash some buckles!
Well then… all of these missions seem potentially challenging… Considering you have to go alone, an easier mission might be good. But at the same time, more challenge means more reward. Well, what will it be?
