Thanks Heather! This is awesome for a bonus sketch. Thanks for personalizing the sketch by drawing my 'sona, even though he is still in development and my visual references are very limited. With all the Anubian jackals you've drawn or painted, plus all the other obscure canids, I'm a bit surprised that I was the first golden jackal (well, golden jackal/gryphon). I'm glad that my 'sona was interesting and fun to draw, you will get to draw him again as he develops.

Your character was a lot of fun to draw so it was no onerous chore. Mostly I get Nubian jackals of some form. Still haven't gotten a black backed jaackal either. I'd be happy to be commissioned to draw him again:)

Black-backed jackals are fairly common as 'sonas (about as common as Anubian/Khemetic jackals). They outnumber golden jackal 'sonas about 3 to 1. Side-striped jackals are by far the least common jackal species as 'sonas and in furry art.
