Yes, I'm mad.
And so are you.
But you already knew that, or you wouldn't have come here.
I was taught that "imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality".
And that my reality is a tad different than yours.
So here's a small taste of my insanity.
My cup overfloweth with confidence, and my how fine I look all dressed up in rage.
I reflect beauty, charm...
And that undying, urging need...
That reflection exposes more reality
Than the essence it echoes.
Those that say there's nothing like a nice cup of tea for calming the nerves...
Never had the real me.
I'm like a syringe of adrenaline...
Right to your yearning heart.
An eerily gorgeous representation by the wonderful, wonderful

not to knit-pick....but a Lovecraft Madness...There would be no question of Real or Fake....it would be a question of "should i live with this madness or should i die to save myself from it"...because once you experience Lovecraft, there is no Happy Ending where its 'Business as usual'. There is only "Save me from myself, because i cannot forget"...in so few nice words. 'Army of Darkness'...that movie is Lovecraft at its most conservative...like the Barneys Singalong of Lovecraft.
Technically, Lovecraft only wrote Novellas, but if you want a collection of the short stories he wrote, get The Necronomicon. If you ever watched The Evil Dead or anything in the Evil Dead series, both past and present; The Necronimicon shouldnt be an unknown word to you. Lovecraft is so hardcore, there have been many books and movies to follow the theme, even games like 'Amnesia'.

Just a bit knit-pickyness, but the Evil Dead series really has no callbacks to the Lovecraftian Mythos. The Necronomicon within the context of Evil Dead is just a 'book of the dead' and not really a reference to the Lovecraftian construct by the same name. I know it's mentioned in the Wikipedia article but Evil Dead is really no where near as cerebral horror as what Lovecraft put forth.
To my knowledge the only major feature-length movie that really directly calls on any of Lovecraft's works is Re-Animator... which is alright, but the source story isn't really the best of Lovecraft's work.
For contemporary nods to Lovecraft, i'd probably recommend taking a look at Night Vale, which is cast in the context of of a radio show in the midsts of a very Lovecraftian town.

KNITPICK TIME! Sam Raimi, the creator of The Evil Dead, created the franchise after studying H.P Lovecraft and featured the 'Necronimicon Ex-Mortis' in 3 films. I never said the films were created by H.P Lovecraft, i said "If you ever saw The Evil Dead, you would know what the Necronomicon is". In actuality, H.P Lovecraft lore has inspired many movies, comics, games and tv shows. The Evil Dead is one of them, and a great example of Lovecraft Madness.....even if at its most conservative.
You're regurgitating that wikipedia article :P
I'm pointing out that Evil Dead does not give a good sense of Lovecraftian horror. It's a straight, played for camp horror thriller. There are no callbacks to lovecraft other then the naming of a set piece, which does not serve the same function as the Lovecraftian construct.
I.E. The Lovecraftian Necronomicon is a history of the Old Ones and their associated rituals.
The Evil Dead Necronomicon is a general grimoire of death magic.
I know quoting wikipedia is pretty much non-definitive, but you can't grep dead trees: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ev.....thin_the_Woods

"The same year, at Michigan State, Raimi had been studying H. P. Lovecraft and was most impressed with Necronomicon, or simply The Book of the Dead. From these rough concepts, he concocted a short story where a group of four friends unwittingly dig up an Indian burial ground and unleash horrific spirits and demons."
"In addition to Raimi's interest in various horror films, one of the main inspirations came in the writing of H. P. Lovecraft, who introduced the concept of the "book of the dead" to Raimi.[5] Raimi studied the concept of magical books, in particular the Necronomicon, which formed the basis of the film."
This is all fine and dandy, the inspiration is what it is, but I don't think we can consider the campy gorefest that is Evil Dead to be in any way representitive of Lovecraft's works. The Book of the Dead concept is not unique to Lovecraft and the way it is used in Evil Dead doesn't really allude to the purpose that it was employed by Lovecraft.
I can agree that the name is an homage, but I have to disagree with the assertion that the Evil Dead series is a good representation of lovecraftian horror. It's a good franchise in its own right, but one man singlehanded defeating an army of daemons really fails to communicate the sense of horror and incomprehensibility alien environments and mentalities conveyed in say, the Cthulhu mythos.

Heh! I'm glad you share my sentiment tword Lovecraft's works.
We all but dabble in the vast depths of knowledge and opinion, be they derived from this world or the other. I hoist the mantle of being a dabbler in a great many pools, but my depth is limited. I will admit though, that I do enjoy literature quite a bit, and horror quite another. A great many of these pools converge upon the works of Lovecraft and give me a piecemeal composite from with to draw my oh-so-opinionated conclusions :3
Cthulhu Fhtagn. Llll phlegeth clw'nafh.

*nods stoically* Its true. Many mentally compromised artists may pour themselves and their environment into their creations not expecting interpretation. However, looking back in reflection on their past they can agree that what they meant was influenced by events even they have a hard time pinpointing, thus proudly excepting audience interpretation.
Lovecraft however was self spiting and often meant what he wrote (though at times proudly manipulative of the readers mind).Through a letter or two to a few newspaper individuals he was aggresivley offended by their own interpretation of what his solemn and somber excerpt really meant.
Dearest realist of a chesire, I do take your advice into consideration. Lovecraft simply happens to be a fondness of mine ^_~♥

Oh don't take that stuffy fool so seriously. He has nothig better to do than try to get in the way of a good time!
I like the cut and dry, literal approach. There is duty in the verbatim instead of having to "compromise" to the will of interpretation. Religion, folklore, even my Wonderland is often cursed with misinterpretations negatively affecting actions.
I say you and I have another sip of tea, and I'll tip my borrowed hat at you being an expert of your "craft" (pun of course intended! ).

Stuffy he may be, but I have seen him speak of curious fun a bit more freely than the enchantingly gloomy kitty before me. You and I have an affinity of other agendas is all.
As you have put above, tea is for calming nerves yet I can assure you that oils and other herbal extracts of a mind altering sort may always be added *dips under the cup to lap at its overflow. Glances up at the billowing, grinning creature and winks*

Tsk, tsk... Typical male, mistaking politeness for flirtation. Still, this alice has piqued my curiosity, one who I can maybe enjoy a game of the Queen's croquet after our tea to further discuss these alluring extracts. Clearly she deserved an invite to this eternal party. *grins hauntingly*
*slips a hand into my skirt pocket and thumbs the stopper of an amber vial. Wraps a few fingers around the cold facets of the bottle and rotates it upright then down to feel the weight of its contents.*
I do indeed, however "share" is the keyword we may need to pay special attention to. This little freckled alice you've found must acquire more from my father's cabinet so dotingly called his blanket of necessary madness. Not all a risk, a few trinkets and vials dedicated to improving health, the rest are up to me to discover.
(In reality I am a pharmacy technician so thia subject always intrigues me to playa around with in my dialog ^_^)

*sticks his tongue out at Noxis before disappearing in a smokey grin, reappearing floating besides the freckled vixen*
...a great entity once said, "she who saves a single soul, saves a universe". This alice already understands the path she wishes to take, maybe we can... "share" the journey of impossible randomness to find your father's fabled fortune?

*head still tilted slightly, shifts my gaze to my first encountered looming beauty. Raises my eyebrows in question* A little poison over a long period of time can build the highest of immunities though, wary kitty ^_~♥
I may only accept disappearing companionship as long as you two come as a package. May I continue to enjoy your company as well, my dark wonderland temptress?

*fingers over my stomach, up the plumes and ruffles of my blouse and rests my hand over my heart as pride subsides to my own growing butterflies*
My unintentionally humorous duo, it is I you two have flattered and turned curiosity into an infatuation. I know that my impending journey will be an intriguing one indeed, so long as you continue to give me such an honor. I willingly follow the white rabbit in pursuit of you two.

*phases in closer, teasingly looking into her eyes* Both it is then! I will be the Twiddle Dee to his Tweedle Dum. Pick a rabbit hole, enlightened one... We'll be waiting.
*looks down at the Nightdown* Oh put yourself back together! It's been a while since we had a good ol' Cheshire duel. Race you to her good fortune, grinning gremlin!

Well sweet competitors, my vices go on forever, though I stick to a few more reliable ones. All my so called rabbit holes you will be revealed way or another, in my public formality and in my alternate true self. Likes and dislikes be damned, its all that pleases at a moments notice that keeps this twisted gear moving like clockwork.
*twitches an ear toward the wafting sound, tilts my head only slightly to glance out the corner of my eye as a smirk creeps across my short muzzle*
I may consider, seeing as my broken twitchy kitty of a Cheshire has seemingly abandoned me for her own gain. There is only so much chasing one can do before the journey is no longer worth the boring pain.

One must wonder exactly how mercury fumes affect one who is so vaporous. :3 So far it seems to change your look a few degrees.
Green on white, yet again my observations seem twisted before my eyes Noxis! Is there no consistency in this maddening gaze?
I have to say I approve of your waist coat, though it seems the tailor was a bit stingy with the material.
None the less you pull off pinstripes quite well, it is no wonder you are feeling a bit overconfident.
And imagery, my dear madam! To strike the heart o save it!
Oh I swoon.~

Mmm swoon you shall, little one, but I don't think it's possible for me to be overconfident in that gorgeous pinstripe! A Hatter goon tailored it with what he had, and I grabbed their sacred hat to model for JaciMae's wonder-filled imagination. The Master Cheshire always loved that hat...
Your focus on colors is driving you mad; I love it! And a lack of consistency is a luxury that keeps genius from becoming stale.

Oh, riddles! You begin to speak like your grinning companion. But as a sphinx I can't call me out of the game.
The answer, I think, is neither and both.
Both, because apparently we have two faces of the same medal, one the negative of the other, but here the medal is one-sided and double-viewed. Much like you and the Nightdown are just two sides of the same path.
Shifting perspective shifts life (and your cup too).
Neither, because your cup is overflowing, so you exceed the total before even calculating it, and the problem becomes irrelevant.
Or, that's a Klein cup, which can never be filled and at the same time spills his content everywhere, so you're just playing with my madness.
(too many minds in our world act the same way, by the way: overflowing remaining stubbornly void).
Tea shouldn't be wasted, anyway, so I suggest to drink first and solve flimsy problems later.

This one gets it!
Neither and both, which when calculated, becomes irrelevant. I suppose I would rather be both, but that's from neither here nor there.
If your speculation in it being a Klein cup spoofs you, you should see the Lady Cadogan's Teapot that she poured the tea out of!
