Inspired by a conversation on the UK Fur Forums, which featured a picture called 'Common Foxes in the Snow'. The thread in question is here: http://forum.ukfur.org/topic/44586-.....calendar-2013/
This is my first audio submission, a re-imagining of the Pulp song 'Common People' as a tale of a country vixen in the big city.
Music by Pulp (Nick Banks, Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Steve Mackey and Russell Senior)
Lyrics
(by Ziegenbock and Rachez)
She came to London with her country graces
That little vixen wants to mix in and that's where I caught her eye.
She was wandering down an alley in Tottenham,
I said, "I know a young vixen like you's not come from round here."
And then she turned to me and she said,
"I want to live like common foxes
I want to do whatever common foxes do,
Play in the snow like common foxes
Play in the snow with common foxes like you."
Well what else could I do - I said, "I'll see what I can do."
We went behind a supermarket
I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere, so it started there.
I tip a bin and say 'Bon appetit', she just laughed and said oh you're so funny.
I said, "Yeah? Well I can't see any plump chickens 'round here."
Are you sure you want to live like common foxes,
You want to see whatever common foxes see,
Scavenge for food like common foxes,
Scavenge for food with common foxes like me?
But she still wanted to explore, so she smiled and took my paw.
Dodge a car and dig a hole, run away from Pest Control.
Scratch the fleas out of your fur, or roll in mud if you prefer.
But still you'll never get it right
'Cos when you're in your den at night
Where mice and rats all scratch the wall
If you take the tracks you'd be home by dawn, yeah.
You'll never live like common foxes
You'll never do whatever common foxes do
You'll never be an urban fox, dear
You'll never be a mongrel out on the street, and sleep and yiff and eat
Because there's nothing else to do.
Howl at night with the common foxes, howl away and it might just get you through
Laugh along with the common foxes
Laugh along even though they're laughing at you and the stupid things that you do.
Because you think living rough is cool.
I want to live with common foxes like you, I want to live with common foxes like you...
Like you.

I first spotted this and frowned, wondering how and what you could have done to the song - then I found myself singing along, chanting the new lyrics in my head every time I heard it played elsewhere. Just found it again, and damn, I'm gonna have to put it in a playlist or something, has me in stitches each time :') Thank you for creating such an untold masterpiece.
