Sumo Turtles: Choose Your Own Adventure - Part 27
Previously...
Shredder was not liking this turn of events. From the Technodrome's control room, he watched with growing dismay as Michelangelo had gone from a large disgusting tub of reptilian lard to a much larger and even more disgusting tub of reptilian lard. And now that the super-sumo-sized turtle was as big as the Technodrome and just as intimidating, Shredder's chances of squashing those accursed mutants and wreaking havoc on New York were dropping rapidly. Worse, the huge one was bellowing something in his typical unintelligible teenage garble and hunkering his scaley bulk down in preparation to charge. Shredder frowned under his metal mask as the computers calculated the chances of winning in close-combat and reported discouraging odds. Well, who said he had to fight fair? "Hmph! Just because that turtle is a little bigger doesn't mean he's any better! Now let him witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational Technodrome! BWA-HAHAHA!"
"Noooo, you imbecile, don't fire the lasers! You'll only make things wooooorse...!" Krang stumbled into the control room, the alien and his battered-looking android suit gesticulating and burbling frantically for the cackling Shredder to stop, but it was too late for warnings as his finger had already landed on the massive button, charging the Technodrome's mighty eye-laser cannon.
---
Michelangelo grinned to himself as he hunkered down, feeling the strength in his powerful thighs. Heavy and huge as he was, he knew he'd still be able to launch himself into a slow lumbering run that would pick up speed and momentum to tackle the giant techno-fortress before it could get out of the way. He'd make Master Splinter proud by applying the lessons conveniently taught to him only hours ago!
But before he could even take that first mighty step, the Sumodrome's menacing eye suddenly focused on him, flashed a deep purple, and fired a beam of energy right at him followed by another, and another! Mikey reflexively raised an arm to shield his face, before noticing the laser fire was doing surprisingly little damage to his arms and plastron. In fact, it actually kind of tickled! Well, it didn't tickle so much as it made his huge stomach feel kinda funny. Really funny. Really funny, and really gurgly. Gurgly to the point that his gut started to tremble and quake with the noise, the sound rolling up and out...!
"BWARRRRRRRPPPPP!"
The massive eructation wasn't the only thing going up and out, though. Michelangelo's body suddenly surged in size as he belched, taking mere seconds to double, then triple his already-colossal height while his belly swelled so quickly it crashed forward into the Technodrome, knocking it back and pinning it to one of the cavern walls! He could feel himself blowing up in all directions, unable to do anything about it except hold onto his inflating gut as the last of the gale-force burp slipped out. With the end of the burp came the end of his size-surge, finally leaving him filling most of the cave. He felt a bit cramped now, with his head and shell pressed close to the ceiling, completely surrounded by his titanically swollen chest, belly, and rear. Stalactites and stalagmites poked into his huge body uncomfortably from every direction, several of them snapping right off as his bulk pressed back against them and won.
---
His brothers and Mondo stared as their view of the fight quickly became obscured by a wall of green flesh that may have been one of Mikey's buttcheeks. "Oh, this isn't good," Donatello groaned. "I mean, it's not horrible because I think we just won, but it's still not good. I should have thought of that!"
"What's not good?" Raphael insisted. "Thought of what? How the heck did Mikey become an even bigger fatass?"
Donnie motioned for everyone to follow him back into the cavern, waddling along the remaining sliver of unoccupied space between Mikey's swollen side and the wall of rock. "The Technodrome's lasers are powered by the same energy as Krang's gun," he explained. "Instead of hurting Mikey, they gave him a super-dose instead, making him swell up even larger. But now he's so overcharged with snackcake-energy, the gun won't be nearly powerful enough to bring him back down! The only way we can reverse the whole process now is to get back into the Technodrome and rewire that laser cannon so it can shrink him back down. If we're lucky, we'll only have to deal with Shredder, Krang, and whatever Foot soldiers are still in there on our way to the control room."
Leo didn't like the sound of that 'if'. "And if we're not lucky...?" The team froze as a gurgle rose from deep within the wall of green flesh, and from somewhere far far above them, Michelangelo let out another, shorter belch; the green wall pushed in a little closer.
"...then we're also on a time-limit," groaned Donnie. "Mikey's body is full of all that energy right now, processing it all inside his stomach where it's building up and reacting like way too much soda. But instead of releasing the energy when he burps..." another rumbling belch punctuated Donnie's speech, pressing that fat green wall another few inches closer along with a heavily-muffled groan of protest from far above, "...his body just absorbs it all over again instead, making him grow even bigger! If he doesn't stop or we can't stop him, he's going to keep on getting bigger indefinitely, just like Leatherhead is."
Mondo blinked, running a hand along Mikey's bulk as they made it from hip to plastron. "Is that a bad thing? I mean, it sounds kinda awesome. No one's gonna mess with Mt. Mikey!"
Donnie shook his head in disagreement. "It'll be a bad thing if 'Mt. Mikey' ends up outgrowing this cavern and smothering the whole city! Besides, even if he doesn't grow much bigger he still can't be very comfy like that, and if he squirms too much he might crush the Technodrome completely before I can recalibrate the laser!" From above, another deep muffled groan of discomfort interrupted Donnie's explanation, followed by a thick rippling as Mikey's body shook. "We need to split up into two groups. Two of you are going to have to climb up and try to keep Mikey calm and still, while I take the other for backup and go to the Technodrome to rewire Krang's gun-controls into the main cannon. I think it's pretty obvious that I need to take..."
1)Raphael. He might not be at all tech-savvy, but he'll be good to have around if they get into a fight!
2) Leonardo. He's good in a fight and can help out a little with the rewiring, probably the most balanced choice, just in case!
3)Mondo. Being the leanest and most nimble of the bunch, he'd be the biggest help with rewiring the cannon, though he wouldn't be much use in a fight!
Sooooo much Mikey. Mmph. I envy you, Sumodrome. Also, Shredder, you are a pain in the ass to draw with all your stupid details that I myself came up with. You also just screwed it up royally for the bad guys, so go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.
