It works the opposite, actually. Once a certain nucleus forms, it attracts people to good artists like flies to honey. They'll see someone they faved has you as one of _their_ favorites and follow to see why. As long as you keep posting fresh material (fresh in that it's never been seen on FA before), you will gather lots more folks.
