From a designers stand point:
The feel of the image with the line weights you are using, let alone the line style is a better depiction of who 'YOU' are as an artist. It has more of an artists hand in it vs, the mass market look of most consumer art within this culture. 'Let alone the art culture as a whole.'
The coloring style is one of your own, or at least one that is far less shown in the art world. Especially in ours. It stands out, looks good and it seems you have mastered THIS style as your own.
The design of the characters when you draw them in this style feel more alive and free flowing vs the non dynamic look of styles past.
Over all, even though it is a doodle sketch idea. I say, develop this style further into what you want it to be. I think you've found your niche. And that is something very few people ever find. Most just try to emulate whats 'hot' at the moment.
