Being a creature who once possessed such a strong connection to the realm of nightmares, Macabre still occasionally visits his old home in his sleep. Unfortunately, every now and then, he brings back a hitchhiker. One such hitchhiker was Autumn, a surprisingly harmless spirit. Upon waking, Macabre trapped the creature in the physical realm, and sentencing it to death. Realizing his role in harming the creature, Macabre proved surprisingly benevolent for once, and shared with the creature his own life energy. Now the two are bound together, a living arrangement that the creature, named Autumn by Macabre due to her coloration and plant like appearance, enjoys quite a bit. Macabre, while outwardly denying and cursing the annoying, loving spirit, does not seem to mind either, finding balance and comfort in the creature's companionship.

Autumn is capable of manifesting outside of the nightmare and doing her own thing, but she must return to Macabre regularly. Despite this (limited) freedom, the playful snake-sized spirit is often found making herself comfortable either on Macabre's back or head. Her favorite food seems to be ears which she enjoys nipping and tormenting. She can communicate with various chirps and growls in the physical realm, while being able to speak within dreams. Regardless, in sharing Macabre's life energy, he is the only one able to understand her, and will translate, often throwing in a few insults and curse words of his own doing.
