Kurisu, Chapter Master of the Hellfire Marines (WH40k model)
Kurisu, Chapter Master of the Hellfire Marines, has led his followers in campaigns against the armies of Chaos and Orks who besieged his homeworld. Armed with the most potent weapons and the most advanced armor he could construct, he has torn through enemy citadels and held cities against insurmountable odds, rescuing civilians from their cruel tormentors and capturing arcane technologies.
He is, in his heart, a man of peace, who takes up arms only when it is the last resort. He prefers negotiation and talk to violence, which suits his enemies equally as well as it suits him, for when he is left with no other choice but to go to battle, his victory is swift and certain.

kurisu7885 's RP character, This one took multiple hours to select parts for and build, and contains numerous conversions and parts from many different kits.
Legs - One of the pairs of legs from the Sanguinary Guard kit, with the Blood Angels iconography clipped and filed off.
Torso - the backplate is a standard Space Marine backplate, available from numerous Marine kits, The frontplate is a piece from the Dark Vengeance kit, with the Dark Angels iconography removed.
Backpack - Standard Marine backpack from the Tactical Squad kit. The comms antenna is made from the whip antenna from the Scout Biker kit, with the top clipped off at an appropriate height. Part of the top of the backpack on the right was made flat to accommodate the weapon mounted on it.
Backpack-mounted Weapon - The weapon itself is made from parts of 5 different bitz. The base piece is a Stormbolter from the Sternguard kit, with the barrels, magazines and hand removed. The drum magazines are from the Sanguinary Guard kit's wrist-mounted bolters. The barrels are from the Scout Biker bike-mounted grenade launchers, with holes drilled using a pin vice. (And I'll admit I screwed up on the placement of the hole on the right-hand barrel.) The drum magazine assembly looked very rough and unfinished from the front of the weapon, so I clipped up a double-edged chainsword and glued it onto it to cover it. (Plasticard would've been ideal, but whatever.) The part linking the weapon to the backpack is made up of two pieces - first, the satellite uplink from the Space Marine vehicle accessory kit with the base clipped down and the front antenna and the back dish removed, and second, part of a Space Marine power armored forearm.
Arms and Thunder Hammer - I used the double-handed axe haft from the Space Wolves Pack kit, with the axe head removed. I added on the top part of a Grey Knights Daemonhammer, severing it just above the hand. (I also learned that plastic glue on plastic parts doesn't set as quickly or firmly as superglue does on two surfaces with a fresh, thin coat of Liquid Green Stuff. And that's even with the not-so-great GW superglue.) The left shoulderplate is a crux terminatus one from the Sternguard kit. The right shoulderplate is a typical shoulderplate with a small scroll banner, like you'd see on a Sergeant.
Head and Tail - The head is a wolf helm from the Space Wolves Pack kit. The ponytail is from a beard in the same kit. The tail is from the WHFB Goblin Wolf Riders kit, with a 90 degree notch cut in it to accommodate the Space Marine buttplate. (This isn't normally necessary for my conversions, but it was in this case because the Sanguinary Guard buttplate is tilted differently than most of the other models I've built, and the way I'd normally do it would end up with the tail being through the lower part of the backpack.
In-game, I intend to use him as a Space Marine Captain with Artificer Armor, a Thunder Hammer, and the Chapter Relic "Primarch's Wrath." I'm not entirely certain about the effectiveness of that combination of weapons, as that ranged weapon is basically useless while moving to assault except for a very limited range, and the thunder hammer is essentially a waste of points for a character that fights at range. But, it may make this model nicely rounded, so he can perform well at shooting as well as melee, and can even engage armored vehicles in melee and even do damage to tougher targets like Land Raiders and Monoliths. This balance of combat abilities suits the character's fluff quite well, as Kuri prefers to fight at range, with the ability to finish off whatever gets to melee with him, and a simple stormbolter somehow doesn't seem potent enough to accomplish much in ranged combat.
I also think that the way I designed his ranged weapon, which was initially going to be a niftier Stormbolter, makes it look unique and different enough to be conceived of as a weapon as special as the Primarch's Wrath.
Also, he hasn't been painted yet, but I hope to get around to it at some point.

I know enough of the 40k mythos to know that this character does not fit in ANY way, shape, or form into it. And in fact, is actually anathema to the very basis of the plot.
I have also read enough of it to know that your character is way, WAY cooler than anything GW has printed.
Good work man!
(Yeah, I'm highly opinionated, but I can freely admit that this is only my opinion. Take that how you will)
I also found your customization and artistic skills to be very impressive, thank you for giving such a detailed description of what you used and how you used it. You had to kit-bash from a LOT of different sources, and it really paid off.
You were able to find enough analogues from enough sources to get a very strong rendition of your desired look with a minimum of obvious alteration-- you used the perfect amount of green stuff and glue to make your model look like it WASN'T very kit-bashed. That's tough, and the mark of a pro. Your version of the "Wrath weapon is very creative, too. I like the design.
Also, the "Armor Indomitus" is a pretty crappy piece of gear, but it also makes you Relentless, which makes you able to fire the bolter while still being mobile. I think the only reason they put it in the game was to enable you to make a Devastator style captain.
The very basis of the Space Marine army is a jack-of-all-trades approach. To that end, your character here is a perfect example. Versatility is a great strength.
This guy could shred infantry, go toe-to-to with vehicles, and have a solid chance in melee challenges.
Monstrous creatures, devoted melee units, and artillery would be the only things that would really bother him.
Great job, I look forward to seeing him finished!

First of all, thanks for all the compliments. : D I put a lot of time and thought into this model, and am glad to hear that it came out well.
Second, sadly I haven't painted this guy yet - at the time of this post over 5 months have gone by from the posting of the photo.
Also, the character's backstory is based on some roleplaying sessions I've done with Kuri. The various event referred to, like holding cities against insurmountable odds, happened in those roleplays. Those civilians he rescued refers to an RP we did where one of Pouncey's (my RP character) clones was kidnapped to be a Slaaneshi Chaos Marine's slave. When Kuri walked into the room and saw what he was doing to her, he just put a bolt round through his head.
And I'm glad you noticed the balance of the weapons! Typically I'd outfitted Kuri's models with relic blade swords and stormbolters, to keep costs down and because he liked swords (and also that at the time the best ranged weapons available to Captains and Chapter Masters were combi-weapons and stormbolters. (The custom-built weapon on his backpack was originally going to be a Master-crafted Stormbolter, which is why it's based on a Stormbolter and has two barrels, and I was going to give him a one-handed sword). But that concept was starting to get old (bladed anti-infantry melee weapons and stormbolters featured heavily on my Kuri minis), and that evening Kuri linked me to the video from Space Marine demonstrating the Thunder Hammer and I was like, "Dude, that is AWESOME!!!!" Kuri, having played Space Marine, also found it awesome, and to sweeten the deal, he was overjoyed to be able to deal damage to any vehicle in the game, up to and including a Land Raider.
And jack-of-all-trades is exactly how Kuri likes it. He does prefer to fight at range, which is why I gave him the Primarch's Wrath instead of the Stormbolter, but when the enemy does manage to close to melee range, he likes to have a strong melee weapon to finish them off with. So this is a combination that's kinda winning for me, as it makes both an effective character and a fluffy character.
But... There's actually zero green stuff on this model. It's all just pieces and cut-up pieces stuck together with plastic glue. If there's any green stuff on this model, it was Liquid Green Stuff used specifically to provide a better sticking surface to make a join hold better. I am absolutely dreadful at sculpting. I can't even make a decent hood.
And thanks for the tip on the armor! I'd actually made a model with identical weapons (apart from the gun, which is a different rendition of the Primarch's Wrath and only has a single barrel) but with Terminator armor, just a few days after I made this one, specifically because I wanted that Relentless to help with the Salvo weapon. The Terminator one is still missing a head, because I ran out of Space Wolf Wolf helms (actually had to cannibalize the head and tail on this model from a different model). It looks good as well, but really lacks the energy of this one. This one's rushing headlong into the fray, the Terminator is making more of a slow, deliberate, implacable advance, which does suit Terminators better thematically. I like the Terminator's gun more, and will probably go take some photos of it to upload here when I'm done with this post, because I don't think I've shown it to Kuri yet.
And sorry for the delay, I've been kinda out of the 40k habit for quite a while now, playing more video games (definitely looking forward to Eternal Crusade, but for now WoW will have to slake my gamelust).
