My entry for Mythka's contest over at DA. My scanner really chewed up the green but eh, I can't complain now.

Spirit Eater
Name: Misuto
Species: Silver Fox
Gender: Female
Age: 289
Artifact: Cherry Tree Branch
Personality: A loner but a lover, Misuto roams searching for companionship, though her animal instincts often get the better of her. Her bite is worse than her bark. When companionship eludes her, she becomes vengeful and will scare off any potential comrades with her rage. Her attitude is calmed only with the artifact she always carries--a branch of the tree from her childhood home. When alone, she gingerly tends to its petals, as if it were her only friend.
Both of these paintings are watercolor, the human version is on Arches hot press art board, and the fox version is on strathmore illustration board. Both paintings are approx. 11x13. I spent A LOT of time on these, and crushed out the fox painting in one night. Woot.
I really enjoyed your contest, Mythka!! Such a great concept, I was so excited to design a Spirit Eater.
