Uh, I feel so bad. >.< I did it again. This time I also studied several other artists to make it as cute and candy-like as possible. All pink and stuff.
Added the tentacles last minute. Love them. Than I went a bit over board with the lighting, but I love the result. XD
His name is Promise. Yeah, it's a boy. And the name is because I promised myself that I will have someday such a "candy-dog" (thanks to Aik for this interesting term XD) char myself. SO yeah, I think I will keep him.

I could do that, but it's not that many others use the same technique, although mine may be a bit different from time to time. But here are a few good tutorial, especially the first one: http://kuitsuku.deviantart.com/art/.....g-Tut-56907784

Somehow...I feel like I like Kuitsuku's shading style with your style better. It really works for you! :D You also put so much detail into that fur! I think you're the first person to actually master the 'Kuitsuku' shading style, but you've taken it to another level. The tentacles are so beautiful and those eyes...they're like jewels! They're gorgeous! I love the blue lighting on the neck too. It's a great touch! I really like this character. I may have to draw him one day. He's adorable!
You're welcome! *hug back*
It's insane how detailed that shading is! I think I would've gone blind...either from staring at the computer so long...or the shininess. XD My eyes aren't that great as it is. ^^; Honestly, how long did this take you?
I think I would've also died after finishing something like this. XD I should try to do something like this. I just took details from Kuitsuku's tutorial and over simplified them. That's how I got my shading style. I think I'm just...well...I don't think I'd have enough patience to try something like this even though I really want to. ^^;

Oh, you have no idea. I can remember when I started drawing I got a sore back and eyes after one hour drawing on my comp. But after two years I somehow got used to it. Still after such a piece my eyes hurt. ^^ This took me from start to finish a whole day. I think I started in the morning, something around 9 or 10 am and worked till 8 pm (but I took breaks to eat and stuff). The light effects I added the next day. I make the shading with the lassotool and the gradient tool, that takes really much time.
You already put so many details into your traditional works, you can try something like that with your digital too.
